The Mustangs also added a transfer commitment from Rice wide receiver Jake Bailey, who had 714 yards receiving a year ago. Former Texas wide receiver Joshua Moore committed to transfer to SMU, but hasn't enrolled and it's not a guarantee he does by the time fall starts. Knox (5-foot-11, 170 pounds) provides the SMU wide receiver room with an immediate speed element.   Sophomore running back Lincoln Pare will join old teammate Layne Hatcher at another Sun Belt school. Pare will be transferring to Texas State, the Memphis native announced on Twitter Sunday afternoon. Pare entered the portal less than a week prior to the announcement. He played in 12 games in 2021, picking up a team-high 455 yards on the ground (4.3 per carry). He had 738 total yards and 3 TDs, the third-highest mark on the team by a non-quarterback.   Texas State's All-Sun Belt defensive lineman Caeveon Patton signed as an undrafted free agent with the Indianapolis Colts following the 2022 NFL Draft. The Bobcat, who was twice named All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention, was a three-year starter at defensive tackle and nose tackle in his five years in a Texas State uniform. In 44 career games, he logged 179 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and six quarterback hurries.   Memphis added more help on the defensive line as former Sam Houston State lineman Kamren Washington committed to the Tigers. Washington was the WAC Freshman of the Year last season after recording 13 tackles with a sack in 10 games. The 6-foot-2, 265 pound native from Mansfield, Texas entered the transfer portal on April 12 according to his Twitter feed. Washington took a visit to Memphis during the spring game Friday and also had offers from Charlotte, Texas State, Louisiana Tech and North Texas among others. "Soon as I got there, it was just a click with (defensive line) Coach (Kyle) Pope and (head coach Ryan) Silverfield," Washington told The Commercial Appeal. "They have a good team and I think I can come make an impact in the system and help them win a championship."
